Todays minimotivator fresh from my desk

Elizabeth J. Canham said, "There is no freedom like seeing myself as I am and not losing heart."

That quote certainly makes me feel a lot better. I took a look at myself after reading this quote, felt a bit lighter and I'm feel sure you will too.

Sneak off to the bathroom now and take a look. Take my word for it, you'll look great.

Todays minimotivator fresh from my desk

Ernest Hemingway said, "I still need more healthy rest in order to work at my best. My health is the main capital I have and I want to administer it intelligently."

If one of the greatest minds of Literature thought rest was the 'main capital' he had I think it's worth looking at. Healthy rest is overlooked because we have such busy lives and think other things are more important, They aren't. Your health comes first.

Have a rest. You deserve it.

Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer said, "View money and things not as something you create to fill a lack, but as tools to help you more fully express yourself and realize your potential."

There are a lot of 'things' out there . Things that can end up taking the place, or lack, of something. To think of these things as tools to realize your potential is a powerful place to start from. Start there.

Have a great weekend.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "There is no strong performance without a little fanaticism in the performer."

Watching Man on Wire shows you clearly what Emerson was talking about. Listening to someone who is passionate about what they do is awesome. Find something about what you do that inspires you and talk about that, constantly. People will get your enthusiasm and it will make a big difference to your day.

Watch Man on Wire. Have a terrific day.

Oprah Winfrey said, "Even the wildest dreams have to start somewhere. Allow yourself the time and space to let your mind wander and your imagination fly."

You need some space. Grab the time and space wherever you are and let your imagination fly. The rewards are freedom, relaxation, energy and creativity. I think it's worth spending a few more minutes in the shower or bathroom to have that.

Robert Frost said, "You have freedom when you're easy in your harness."

Have you ever seen a horse rearing up and straining in it's harness? It can't do anything and is constantly getting pulled back and into line. But as soon as it relaxes it can breath, move and do anything. Maybe that's what we should do, be easy in our harnesses, and we will be able to breath and have have our freedom.

Fran Lebowitz said, "Contrary to popular opinion, the hustle is not a new dance step - it is an old business procedure."

Today I have really hustled and the day has been exciting and fun. Try it yourself next week, hustling makes they day go faster, raises the energy in the room and makes it so much easier to smile.

Have a great weekend.

Morris Adler said, "Our prayers are answered not when we are given what we ask, but when we are challenged to be what we can be."

I like that. Everyone needs to be challenged because some things we want come too easy. There has never been a more perfect time to be what you can be. Take advantage of it.

Henry Miller said, "I soon found out you can't change the world. The best you can do is to learn to live with it."

How true is that today? The world we live in changes faster and faster every minute now. I'm learning to smile (grimace sometimes), live with it and embrace it, and I trust you are too.

John Paul Jones was to have said, "I have not yet begun to fight!" during a naval battle in reply to a quip about surrender.

Have you had someone tell you to give up when you're just starting something? Next time use John Paul Jones famous line and push on.

Have a great afternoon and sorry for the lateness. As you know this is fresh each day and I got caught up in exciting meetings. Any ideas on how I can get this out on time can be posted here.

Todays minimotivator fresh from my desk

There is a saying in use today that goes, "It is better to ask for forgiveness than to ask permission."

How much could you achieve if you followed that dictum? Good ideas are good ideas. Don't let others un-informed or un-enthusiastic mindset keep your ideas grounded.

Have a great weekend.

Ambrose Redmoon said, "Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear."

What could be more important that you would do something anyway? Health? Relationships? Love? I feel sure you can do anything if you make something more important than what you fear doing.

Iyanla Vanzant said, "Remain open. There is something bigger than you know going on here."

There is always something bigger. It might not be obvious straight away, but it's there, keep looking ahead.

Todays BOOST to survive the day

W.B. Yeats said, "I have spread my dreams beneath your feet. Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."

This made me look twice before racing around the villa where my office is. But also made me think are my dreams a welcoming mat to relating to me?

Let me refresh you by diverting you from work for a minute and getting your thoughts on this here.

Todays BOOST to survive the day

Thomas Alva Edison said, "I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward."

Here was a guy who made approximately 10,000 attempts to develop a longer burning light bulb. Make a few more attempts and while you do remember Edison would have made 9,997 more to get to his goal.

Todays BOOST to survive the day

Anne Sullivan said, "People seldom see the halting and painful steps by which the most insignificant success is achieved."

In business or sport or life when the way becomes painful and halting steps instead of giant leaps and you keep going, keep pushing, instead of giving up, you are successful by any measure.

-- Anne Sullivan was Helen Keller's teacher.

In times like we are experiencing now it's good to have a Plan B, C and and maybe a D. What's yours?

Todays BOOST to survive the day

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character."

What is your opinion of the world saying about you right now?

Recession or Opportunity? Your opinion makes a difference.

Have a great afternoon.

Todays BOOST to survive the day

Jimmy Johnson said, "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra."

What little bit extra can you do today to make it an extra-ordinary day?

100m longer on your walk, 25m on your swim, one more phone call or a smile when you're about to give in will do it. Keep it simple.

Jack Dempsey said, "A champion is someone who gets up, even when he can't."

When you're out there getting knocked back or down the champion in you will help you get back up. Let them and nothing can stop you.

Have a great afternoon.
